I hate School, shoud I be an LPN, or Cosmetologist?

I really don't lk shcool. I fooled around in high school and have not done much better in Community College. I've desided that college is not for me, but would lk to have a good job while i persue my music career. I was wondering if I would have better opertunitys as an LPN or Hair dresser, I do not lk old ppl. What typical jobs do LPN's get, and could I reasonbly be an LPN and work in a hospitol, or Dr's office, and not a home? Is LPN scholl hard? What is the job market lk for Hairdressers?

If you do not like school, I definately would not suggest you attend nursing school. That takes a lot of time and dedication. Since you do not seem to cater to older citizens, then I would also not recommend this career. As a nurse, your primary concern is the care and well being of ALL patients and not pick and choose.

A career as a hairdresser would probably be your best bet. If you are pursuing a music career, it could be a great combination! Plus, cosmetology school is quite fun! I can tell you that you will not be making $$$$ when you get out of school. You will probably work at a chain salon just to garner experience and a clientel or if you are lucky and can show potential talent go to a more upscale salon and work as an apprentice under a master stylist.

Being an LPN is a lot safer than being a Russian space traveler

While I don't know exactly how much hairdressers make (and it'd probably be fun!) I'm going to school for nursing right now, and the classes WILL BE CHALLENGING. BUT, LPNs beginning make about 17-19 bucks an hour. But if you go to school about a year to a year and a half more and become an RN (registered nurse,) you'll be rolling in 24 to 34 bucks an hour depending on how long you've been working and where you are ect.

Also, nursing brings along good job security!

But do what you love and want.

LPN school is hard and your education isnt done once you graduate you are constantly going to classes and meetings it takes a strong dedicated person to be an LPN if you hate classes then go with cosmetology it can be fun i took classes and i was 3 months from graduation (2 years) and i fell down some steps and couldnt bend over the shampoo bowl anymore so i didnt continue but i wish i would have.

the first year is book work and working on a dummy head the end of the first year on you are working on real people and each other and you can have your own hair done and shampooed even if you dont get into nails they teach you how to do facials and manicures it gets fun its not behind the desk boring stuff all the time... i found it quite interesting and helpful

what ever you want to do maybe you should become an registered nurse because they make more money than lpns and also get to do a bit more.

Well if you don't like School and your interest are in music then a high end cosmetologist school is your best bet...

Go beyond hair dressing in your education....make-up,skincare,nail care........You might be able to find a apprenticeship with a stage makeup artist to give you guidance.

This will give you something solid to pursue your music and travels well. You can even start you own business later, might lead you to working with bands musicians, managers, theater in the music world etc...

Barber training,manicurist.travels well too...

All these have solid growth for years to come in America.(not sure i other countries)

Or a tech training for bands,recording,lighting,theater.......

From your own words LPN is not right for you.to much education.......and working with the elder........By the way your elder is going to be the biggest market in all the job market..

as the baby boomers have arrived.........

good luck

If you don't like school you won't like the steps it takes to become a LPN

Cosmetology is great but you could also try, Esthetics.

Be a cosmotologist. If you have talent you can get a good paying job in a good city (LA? NY?). You can easily schedule clients around auditions and gigs and possibly meet someone who can help you further your career. All you need to do to start is pass the math/reading assessment which is easy as pie.

LPN is disgusting work, but someone has to do it. You clean out bedpans, just basically the lower class of the medical field.

I would much rather become a cosmetologist. You also get tips as a hair dresser, and it's much more glamorous.
