I got my hair dyed red a month ago, and it's no where as red as I want it to be. So when I go to the hair dresser, what shade should I tell them I want it to be? This is the color I'm going for.

What shade of red is this?
Bringing the pics would be most effective, but if you must *describe* the color, I would say coppery auburn (the first pic) or just auburn (the second pic, which is a bit darker).
Instead of having your hair dresser chemically color your hair, have you considered doing it yourself using Henna? The plant creates a rich red dye that is *much* better for your hair, leaving it stronger and shinier than it was before, along with the gorgeous color. The henna site I'm linking below shows all the different shades you can get out of it.

I would say that is more of a copper than a red. (to me red is darker and more bue in colour, whereas that has orange undertones.
To achieve that colour your hairdresser will probably have to bleach your natural colour first - and then dye. All this is not good for your hair! Make sure you talk to your hairdresser about it.

Bringing in the picture is always the best idea..but if you want to explain a little more, here's what to say! Tell them that you're going for a level 6 red copper and see if they can add in a red-booster as well..every salon uses a different line, but they all have boosts. Red "kickers", or red "boosts" it's all the same. Hope this helps!
