Dyed my hair professionally but want a lighter color. How to fix?

This is my 1st time dyeing my hair hence, I am very new to hair dying so bare with me lol. My hair is naturally black (turns really dark brown in sun, not blue) and I got the bottom half layer of hair dyed a warm brown. I thought it would come out a brown but it came out a fairly dark brown. It's not very noticable and I want it to be a bit lighter. I don't want to dye my hair again. What will happen if I wash with regular shampoo (instead of shampoo made for dyed hair)? Or would shampoos for sustaining light brown or blonde hair lighten it? Someone told me that John Frieda's shampoo for brown hair would lighten it. Can you recommend some specific products?

-- I'm not sure what double bleaching looks like so can someone tell me if that is what my hair dresser did? She first put the white-ish dye stuff in my hair and waited for about 45 minutes (but the color didn't show) and then put more in for about 30 minutes. She massaged it in and then rinsed it out.

Dyed my hair professionally but want a lighter color. How to fix?

sounds like she just used plain ol' bleach..

you can buy that yourself and leave it on longer (but i wouldnt recommend it)

nope..diff shampoo isnt going to fade it unless it used to be lighter and you put color on top of it..then it makes the color fade... but it wont help if it was already dark to begin w/

hang out in the sun if that helps you or go to the tanning bed? if you like going...by all means dont get skin cancer because of this answer though.. hehe

that's all i know of, unless you just bleach it some more!

i also have dark hair so dying it a lighter clolour usually doesnt work. i reckon u should ask ur hairdresser to highlight that piece, she should put a lot (depending on u) of thin highlights there then dye it that way u will see the difference. if u worried about ruining ur hair just use a good treatment after dying in. i suggest v05 hot oil it works like a charm

goodluck

Dyed my hair professionally but want a lighter color. How to fix?

The very best thing for you to do, is go back to where you had it done and tell them you are NOT happy! They will redo it for free and your problem will be solved.

There's NO shampoo that I've ever heard of that will make it lighter.

Just go back....Things like this happen all the time, and salons are used to re dos to make their customers happy.

Just DO NOT attempt anything on your own! You're only asking for trouble if you do that.

Dyed my hair professionally but want a lighter color. How to fix?

When hair has been lightened it cant go back to darker with out adding more color. Your natural haircolor has been lifted out and remved. Regular shampoo will Just not protect your chemically processed has as much.

Dyed my hair professionally but want a lighter color. How to fix?

Shampoos do not color or lighten hair per say. You need either A, get it died back to the original color as close as possible, but give it a month or two to recondition or B, get our hair dresser to bleach and die it a different color again after giving it time to restore condition first. The answer to the your bleaching question; yes it was and has to be bleached first going from darker to lighter. It is like creating a clean canvas to paint on.

Condition with Matrix Bio and V05 hot oil treatments

Also, have your hairdresser do a sample strand next time...

Sorry, my mom ran a salon out our home when I was growing up....learned a few things...good luck!

I need help with my hair?

Im a natural chesnut brown and i want to be blonde i have used hair colours and every colour i use turns my hair ginger or copper and i hate it. I have also used colours with extra lightners and it turns my hair white and the only other thing to use is bleech but this makes my hair so dry and bright white. I want to achive a nice honey dark blonde but i cant afford to go to the hair dressers either. When im blonde though my roots always come back black is it worth ruining my hair to get it blonde or just leave it brown how can i do this ? please help xx katie xx

I need help with my hair?

Getting all of your hair honey blonde is going to be a very complicated procedure. A heavily done highlight one shade lighter than the honey blonde that you desire would be the easiest way to get the results you are after. (And maintaining highlights is a little easier than maintaining a full head of color) If your hair is all brown right now, you can pick up a highlight kit, pull quite a bit of hair thru the cap, use the lightening product (probably bleach) and watch it like a hawk, when it gets to a orangey-yellow color, rinse the bleach and lightly shampoo and condition the hair (KEEP THE CAP ON) now towel dry the hair and blow dry until it is almost completely hair, now apply a medium ash blonde color (permanent) to the hair sticking out of the cap. The medium ash blonde will counteract the brassy tone that the bleach left and leave you with a pretty honey shade. If you let the bleach lift your hair all the way to pale yellow it will be harder to get the color to "take" to your hair, by leaving a little pigment in your hair the permanent color gets to do both of its jobs (lifting color and deposting color) it will also keep the bleach from staying on your hair so long that it destroys its intregrity. You should use a deep conditioner daily on multi-processed hair. I use 3 separate conditioners every day just because I live in a sunny climate.

Hair dying question??

I have dark brown hair and its lighter about 10cms down. It sort of looks like re growth but its not, its from having blonde foils. My mum only gets me get it semi died all brown because if its permanent i will have re growth and she doesnt want be dying it all the time. Could I just wait till the semi is all out and dye it my nautral colour (the colour at the top) and then as i get regrowth i wont know until it hits the blonde.. so it wont be dying it all the time... just until the blonde is fully out?

I would get it done at the hair dressers so they can match the colour but is this possible? Im 13 if it helps.

Hair dying question??

im a hairdresser myself.. and i can assure youll be fine, deffinitly go to the salon, and tell them what your looking for.

Hair dying question??

Ive been exactly the same. you will have to go to a hairdressers to get it sorted. if you try it yourself, there is no way that you will be able to match it because you're not qualified to.

so book yourself into a salon %26amp; explain it to them.

Hair Advice?

I have possibly the worst combination of hair. It is dry and a bit damaged at the ends, oily at the scalp and very frizzy and naturally thick and curly. I look after my hair and i need to wash it nearly every day to keep it in reasonable condition. I use Herbal essence and get may hair done at the hair dressers regularly, but i cant just get out of bed, brush my hair and be ready for they day. I spend ages tying it back and straightening my fringe. I need to keep my fringe to frame my face a bit, i dont like what i look like with my hair all pulled back. I like to keep it long, hoping that the wieght of it will make it less frizzy. Is there any products out there i can use to tame my hair for everyday wear without spending hours pulling it back or using my straightener??

Hair Advice?

Use a smoothing cream before you style and that will make it less frizzy. Wash your hair every day! I know people say it's bad because "It strips your hair of natural oils" but if you have already oily hair then it's ok to wash it regularly. I have oily hair and always wash it everyday. When I go to get my hair cut, my stylist always says how healthy and clean my hair feels. Just make sure you use a good conditioner always and keep it away from your roots.

Hair Advice?

I like these for my own waves . They are also not as expensive as some things out there

http://jessicurl.com/Products-p-1.html

As someone with an oily scalp its a struggle but I like the shampoo as its not so heavy Then I follow with this conditioner

http://jessicurl.com/Products-p-1.html

then this to style

http://jessicurl.com/Products-p-1.html

also the conditioners are great from this place

Once a week I deep condition my ends

Good luck

ps get those dry ends cut so your hair doesn't get split ends all the way up. Healthy hair is beautiful hair

To truely control an oily scalp getting highlights helps besides the face they look real pretty when done right

Hair Advice?

Oh dear, I have terribly frizzy hair, especially when it's HUMID out. I tell you what I do....I use equal parts of conditioner and honey when I wash my hair. I KNOW it sounds stupid and you're thinking "Doesn't the honey make your hair sticky?" But it doesn't. If just your bottoms are frizzy just use the honey/conditioner mix on the ends of your hair. Don't put it on the roots or it will make it more oily. The first time I used honey, I was hooked...I keep a bottle in the shower and use it everytime I wash my hair to straighten it. Hope this helps!

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

I thought I'd try getting one but now greatly regret it. Im desperate for straight hair and I have layered which makes straightening an even bigger hassle. To get it presentable looking takes five times over with a straightener,no lie, and even with damage protection products its taking its toll. I cant get chemical straightening because Ive been assured by a hair dresser it will make it fall out. Do I have any options?

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

Try styles that pull your hair away from your face... this will make it less noticeable to you and easier to deal with until it relaxes or grows longer. I had gotten a perm once and freaked out because it was so different. I had always had straight hair and it was too much of a change. I did the stupid thing and got it straightened and my hair did indeed fall out... a lot of it! Just be patient.. and don't worry, I am sure it doesn't look as bad as you think! (looking back now at the pictures of me with curly hair, it was actually pretty cute)

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

Sorry the only thing you can do is let it grow about 4 inches (4 to 6 months) and then get it cut to lower the impact of the curls. You can use an anti-friz curl relaxing shampoo and it won't hurt your hair or its roots because it is temporary. Good luck!

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

I feel your pain. I did the same thing when I was younger. I just brushed it, constantly and always wore it up. It eventually, after about a month or so.. started to loosen and the Curls dropped.

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

Sucks about the hair. I know how you feel, but I don't have a perm. I love straight hair. It depends on what kind of hair you have for Japense straightning. If you have thin, brittle, hair- dont use it, use like an iron and an ironing board for someone to help you with.

If you have thick hair- you can probably use it unless otherwise told. Have fun! Hopefully, it will become straight again.

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

Sorry, but the worst thing in the world is waiting for a bad cut or unwanted perm to grow out.

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

The cheapest and easiest way is just to go to the store and get an over the counter perm. follow the directions on timing and instead of putting the curlers in just comb (very gently) straight.

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

I did the same thing, I got a perm a month ago and I hate it, I dont want this puffy frizzy hair. I have been using a flat iron, but even with using a heat protectant spray, its splitting my ends alot too. I think all you can do it let it grow out, and keep flat ironing in the mean time, but only do it once every 3-4 days, shower with a shower cap, thats what I'm doing %26amp; its working out, since I dont really have any other options but let it grow out at this point. Good Luck.

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

Um... ya went wrong with the perm honie, no one got one of those since the 70楹搒, my mom was in 鑼卪, I saw her old clothes ill just say the 70楹搒 were NOT a pretty time.. OK so you can )if you still have the chemicals in) style it straight most perms will style staight if the chemicals ar still in..since your hair will fall you with a straight perm.. i think you should try to strsighten it out.... or buy a CHI they ARE expencive, but tottally worth it!!!!!

GOOD LUCK

!!!

-I楹搈 not strange, just unique

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

I did the same thing once. I used allot of conditioner and I kept having the perm trimmed off. I used Aussie scrunch spray on it until the perm grew out. I wore it up allot also. Good luck

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

If you are not sure, you shouldn't be asking strangers here! Isn't that the advice you rudely just gave to the person asking about studying law??? If you are going to be rude to people here, you can expect it back...see they can answer your questions too! I'd say karma gave you the bad perm for being nasty to people here!

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

A PERM CAN BE TAKEN OUT BY GETTING A BOTTLE OF PERM SOLUTION PUT IT ALL OVER YOUR HAIR THEN KEEP COMBING YOUR HAIR STRAIGHT UNTIL THE PERM IS ALL OUT IT PROBALY WON'T TAKE MORE THAN 10 MIN. THEN RINSE THE PERM SOLUTION OUT, TOWELL DRY YOUR HAIR SOME, THEN IN THE BOX THAT THE PERM SOLUTION WAS IN THERE IS ALSO A NEUTRALIZER--PUT THAT ALL OVER YOUR HAIR , COMB IT THRU AND LEAVE IT ON FOR 5 MIN. THE NEUTRALIZER HELPS THE HAIR GO BACK TO NORMAL. THE PERM SOLUTION WILL NOT HURT YOUR HAIR AS LONG AS IT ISN'T LEFT ON BUT 10 MIN OR LESS, THE NEUTRALIZER HAS TO STAY ON FOR 5 MIN-NO MORE TIME THAN THAT, RINSE OUT THE NEUTRALIZER, SHAMPOO, CONDITION --YOU ARE DONE. THIS DOES NOT WORK ON NATURALLY CURLY HAIR--ONLY PERMED. SOME HAIRSTYLIST THINK YOU HAVE TO USE THE SAME SOLUTION ON PERMED HAIR THAT YOU WOULD USE ON NATURALLY CURLY HAIR--AND YOU DON'T. THE STRAIGHTNER THAT YOU HAVE TO USE ON NATURALLY CURLY HAIR IS TOO STRONG FOR MOST HAIR. GOOD LUCK

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

well i would cut my hair. get it short (not super short tho) and get heavy duty conditioners, id advise biolage, you can get it at your regualar hairdresers for about 20 dollars a bottle, but it will be worth it. straighten it. flat iron straightner. if u get the revlon kind (sold at walmart for about 30 dollars )its amazing and it works on wet hair!!!! also make sure its ceramic and dosent get hotter than 325 or it could damage ur hair worse! i personally have long hair and love it and would hate to cut it off but damaged dry hair is as pretty as a frizzy perm itself, so suck it up and try a cute short look! it will seem like your perm is growing out faster! i hope this helps!!!! (btw have u asked other hairdressers about the chemical straightning?? she may just not want to do it. get a few more opinions if u want!)

Ive had a perm for about a month and cant stand it.?

There is only one soulition to your problem call nichole at fantatic sam's valley junction in Des Moines ia at 515-222-5910 I have never seen so much tallent in one place. She will fix your problem.

Truth is better than a lie?

my family are opening a dry cleaners and they expect me to work there but my dream is to be a hair dresser and open my own salone but my dad things im imbarressed to work with him i can i make him see that i have my own dream with out up setting him

Truth is better than a lie?

If he cant except your dream, its not your fault. You have to do what makes YOU happy.

Truth is better than a lie?

you should tell him he will understand

Truth is better than a lie?

tell your ambitions.

Truth is better than a lie?

Truth is definatly always better than lying!!

You dont want your relationship with your family to be based on lies and resentment do you?

just follow your dream!! they will support you because they love you! :) they are your family!! trust them

Truth is better than a lie?

You need to talk to your dad....I'm sure he'll understand eventually!

Truth is better than a lie?

Talk to him and tell him how you feel. I think you should still help out in the family business while you pursue your own dreams. Nothing wrong with that.

Truth is better than a lie?

If the hairdressing thing is your dream follow it. The thought of working along side his family is probably your fathers dream. Explain to him that you love him and want him to suceed in this venture and ask his advise about setting up for yourself. If he sees you are serious and value hi advice he will understand. After all another business head in the family will help at vat and tax time!!!

Truth is better than a lie?

Tell your dad that you are behind him with his new business and that if you can help if need be but can he please respect and be behind you on your ambition to become a success just like him!

any parent should be happy to have kids with ambition, especially in today's day and age.

Truth is better than a lie?

Take him out for a drink or a meal and break it to him gently or you could buy him something that he really wants and tell him then but to be honest he is your dad and will get over it .. dads always want whats best for there daughters..

Truth is better than a lie?

your happiness in life is more important than any thing my father runs a successful business and wanted me to join with him i wanted to be a song writer i joined his business I could buy anything I wanted but I still wasn't happy so now I do both I work with my dad and with my spare time write song I have never been happier. you could do a joint business have the hair salon next to the dry cleaners when ever your not busy doing hair you can help your father good luck

Truth is better than a lie?

tell him, he is your dad. if he loves you he will understand. if he dosent, he will work on it. my kids have done many things i don't understand. so i try to accept. i would be proud to have a child that dreams of running their own business.

Truth is better than a lie?

You will only make yourself unhappy if you do not follow your dream. Sit down with your dad and explain this too hime, im sure he will want you to be happy. Perhaps work there part time to pay your way through college or start saving for your own salon this way then your dad will see this is really what you want.

Truth is better than a lie?

You should tell them what your dreams are. They should understand. If they still insist that you work in their business, maybe you could compromise with the fact that you could work there to get some money while you achieve your dreams, and maybe some savings that you could use for opening your salon, then when you become a hairdresser, then you can go ahead and open up your business.

Truth is better than a lie?

WELL IT DEPENDS ON HOW YOU FEEL IF HE IS UNDERSTANDING YOU CAN TELL HIM THE TRUTH WHICH WOULD BE THE BEST THING TO DO BUT IF HE THINKS THAT YOU JUST DON'T LIKE TO DO WHAT HE THINKS YOU SHOULD THEN LIE (ONLY USE IT AS A LAST RESORT)

Truth is better than a lie?

Be honest, most parents would much rather you follow your dreams than theirs. It's better to be honest then let him think you are ashamed of him.

Truth is better than a lie?

first of all learn how to spell then offer to help him out with the dry cleaners to show you are not embarrassed of him. but tell him that you will mainly be at college or wherever learning to hairdress as that is what inspires you most. he will understand when he has calmed down xx

Truth is better than a lie?

you should work with him whenever you can. it is the least you can do to help repay the things he has given up to see that you have had a good life. help him out and love him...definately work for him while you attend school...when you get close to graduation make sure he knows you will need a replacement at the dry cleaning store.

Truth is better than a lie?

try talking to him about it and perhaps if you have a spare day go help him out at work so he knows u r not embarrassed

Truth is better than a lie?

you should tell him how you feel you have to remenber this is your dad and no parent wants to see their child sad .

Truth is better than a lie?

Tell the truth and try to explain to him how you feel. Could you not work in the dry cleaners with your parents whilst you are pursuing your dream?

Truth is better than a lie?

Its your life do as you please and your dad will soon come around for sure.Dont lie because you always get found out in the end,so sit him down and tell him how you feel.

Truth is better than a lie?

The truth is always your best bet! Maybe you could tell Dad you'll work with him for awhile, to help out, but tell him your dreams, and that you plan to make good on them. Tell him you've been agonising over the decision of telling him because you don't want him to feel hurt, but that you wanted to be truthful, you know you owe him that much. Then help for awhile, but don't be afraid to do what you want, because your the one that lives your life! Good Luck!

Truth is better than a lie?

I know what you mean it was the same with my dad he wouldn't listen so i left i do regret it but i followed my dream i opened my own night-club and i work in a bank par time if you can't talk to him then writ him a letter saying how you feel? don't get angry yet just tell him OK.

Good luck.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

I call to make an appointment and I ask how much they would charge me for the services I will be receiving, they tell me $80. I get there and they do it then next thing I know they say $120. I say but I thought it was $80 and they "Oh no not for you, you have a lot of hair" (mind you the hair dresser just told me that she deals with people with a lot more hair than mine). I understand maybe charging me $10-$20 more but Jeez $40 more. And why don't they tell you when they start working on your hair in the beginning, "Listen I know I told you $80, but you need more work than I thought so it will be more."

Who else feels this way and after paying that much and coming home and seeing that the highlights are quite brassy after making it clear that's NOT what I want should she fix it for free now.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

She should definitely fix it for free, she should be able to put some kind of toner on it to bring down the brassy color...

I know hindsight is 20/20 but next time after calling and getting the price, as soon as you step in the door ask again... "I was quoted 80.00 on the phone...look at my hair and let me know what the price will be" Then you can decide if you want to pay the extra or mabey you can negotiate it lower or just hit the door if they give you a 40 dollar increase...that is way high!

They will probably stick with the quoted 80.00 to keep the business. They are just taking advantage raising the price after the job is done.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

You paid enough for it, if you are not happy with it, she should be fixing it for you for free. I'd stand firm and choose another salon next time.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

id complain and try to get it fixed free

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

That is a rip off. I've only heard of extra charges for Blow drying and curling or styling. Usually there's a price tag on each type of work you want done. That is a rip. I am a beautician and never done that, but it is not un-heard of. The girls in the salon pay rent to have the chair you sit in, so they try to make a lot off the customers. But when the customer feels ripped off they don't come back.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

You are major tip I do now, PAY IN ADVANCE say your running late that way they cant rip you off.

Also I used to pay top dollars until I went to a cheaper place It took a few people before I found a stylist I liked but shes awesome better than the $100+ but for a THIRD of the price.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

go back and have the stylist..give you what you asked for...also i would check out another place..sounds like she is one of those ..they do what they want and not what you ask..a good stylist will listen to all you say...trust me i am a professional..and discuss everything....hope this helps

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

If you are finding that they are charging you a different amount without notice, try a different salon. They should be telling you up front that they add on for heavy, thick hair due to more time and product used.

Call around and ask about pricing for heavy, thick hair. Find the salon that tells you up front if they charge differently for different hair types. They should be honest about it before you even walk in their door.

If you are unhappy with the style when you get home, call the salon and tell them that you want it fixed, for free. They should readily agree. If they refuse, then make sure you never go back.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

because you are

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

First of all you should of only paid her for what she stated the first time.80.00..No more no less. If you are not satisfied then yes go back and have her fix it for free. You have already paid her and she needs to fix it the way u asked. If she will not fix it then you tell her you have no choice but to take her to small claims court and get your money back. They are provideing you a service and you are suppose to be satisfied. Most likely the word small claims court gets them. Good luck

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

Thats why I do my own hair. they over charge and then don't do your hair the way you want it done.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

The person you spoke to on the phone, should be reprimanded. You should have never received a quote by phone. It's like calling a repair shop for your car. If they can't see it, they won't give you a quote. The more hair you have, the more it will cost, because it takes longer to preform all parts of the service, from shampooing, through the final blow dry. Also, most beauty shops have a receptionist, they don't always know that much about doing hair. She can give you a starting point, to the max. amount. That is the best information, you should be getting by phone. You should be doing more talking, to the stylist of your choice when you arrive at the beauty shop, and have him or her give the coats, before beginning the service. If you chose not to have it done, you may have to pay a consulting fee.

That's the way we handle it in our salon.

If your unhappy with your services, find a place you do get satisfaction. We stylist are only as good as the information you supply us BEFORE we do the service.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

If a hair salon is doing that to you, you need to look elsewhere. That is their trick. It does not even make sense to tell someone that the charges are more for you because you have more hair. That said, look around and you will find an honest salon to deal with.

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

Pay before they start doing your hair, then when yr done, rush off.

OR

Go to a different salon

Why do I always feel like I am being ripped off my hair salons?

You should negotiate the price, in person, before they start working on your hair. It's common to get a different price over the phone because they cannot see your hair and know exactly what you want done. It is their fault though if they messed up your hair. They should fix it for free. Also, they should not have charged you more because a different stylist blow dried your hair after! If I were you I would find another salon where they treat you better and stick to their word. If I did that to the people that came into the salon where I worked I wouldn't have a job for very long.

Side Swept Bangs!?!? helpp pleasee?

i HAVE side swept bangs and i like them but when I have them down they tend to overlap each other and fall in my face. Any ideas to tell the hair dresser, but i still want to keep them sideswept.

Side Swept Bangs!?!? helpp pleasee?

try getting them like layered.

Side Swept Bangs!?!? helpp pleasee?

tell her to cut them evenly .

Side Swept Bangs!?!? helpp pleasee?

straighten them so they because thin and silky that makes it easy so they don't over lap%26gt;3

Side Swept Bangs!?!? helpp pleasee?

I have the same problem, and I love my side-swept bangs too. When they fall in my face cronically like that I change the side they're parted on. Try telling your hairdresser that you like the style, but want them swept towards the other side if you get your hair done regularly, or you can comb them the other way yourself. When I change my part over to the other side, I do it just after I get out of the shower so that my hair is wet. This makes it easier to change and since it's wet it will be more inclined to stay that way. If your hair is difficult to style, try a teeny bit of gel or mousse, and after you're done styling it, use a little hairspray.

Hope this helps!

Side Swept Bangs!?!? helpp pleasee?

Ask the haidresser for a feathered cut to thin out the hair a little and straighteners can help to control your hair. Alternatively, some of the hair can be taken back into a fashionable cioffe style or pinned away from the face while still leaving some down for the side fringe.

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

i got blonde highlights, which looks good. but my hair dresser went and thinned out my hair! my mom didnt want her to , but at first i thought "cool! no more thickness or frizz!"

cuz i have really thick and wavy, curly hair. i thought it was good at first, but now my hair isnt the same. its thinner and it duznt really curl anymore.

how can i get my curl back?!

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

At least yours wasn't as bad as mine.

I got my hair highlighted which my hair is dirty blonde so i got light blonde highlights..my hair person basicall dyed all of my hair that color. Then I came back the next day (not realizing what she did to my hair the first time) to get layers. Well say you were putting your hair half up, she parted my hair right in front of my ears and started using a razor and shaving it off. Then she grabbed the rest under of what she just did ans used a razor on that too! So then she curled and styled it (probably so I couldn't see what she actually did) then a week later my mom looked at my hair. My hair was REALLY thick. my mom felt my hair and was like oh my god. she thined out my hair like half way. IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!!

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

Grow it out.

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

The only way is to grow that hair back out....

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

I really feel bad for you. I hate it when you have a stylist that just wont listen. It happened to me when I got my eyebrows waxed, and now they look so different, it's not even funny.

Ummmm, if you want your curl back, maybe get a perm?

Or, you can gradually scrunch your hair every day with different tyeps of styling products to see if the curls will come back?

Really sorry about that cuz I know how it feels when a stylist just doesn't listen to you or pay attention to what he or she is doing.

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

Well all you can do is buy some serums that may help to thicken your hair or you can just wait it out which is something i wouldnt want to do but if u have patients then good for u

GOOD LUCK!

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

Next time, be shure to tell her how you felt about her thinning your hair. I asked my hair stylist to thin my hair, and she did, and by the time I was back at the salon(probably around 5-6 months), my hair was thick again. It shouldn't stay un-curly for a long time. But for now, to get your hair curly again, use a shampoo or other hair styling product, something that brings out your natural curl.

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

There is no complete fix, but blow drying your hair will give it more body, and it will grow out thicker soon enough.

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

You go to a better hair dresser and ask them if it could be fixed in any way. If yes then ask them to do it or learn how to do it yourself and you'll have you hair back in no time!

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

As a hairstylist, I cant stand when these other stylist use thinning shears it actually makes the hair worse because when you use thinners you are cutting certain pieces of hair shorter and makes a mess of a haircut. my advice is just to be patient, the damage is done. all you can do is grow it out now.

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

you can try velcro rollers..the smaller the roller..the more curl you will have...

since your hairdresser thinned out your hair...perhaps too much....and cut on the curl..which means that your hair will fall limp and just hang ....

the only true way to get your curls back is to grow it out...

what did your hairdresser use to thin your hair with ?

( scissors... thinning shears... or razor?)

hair can be thinned..but only in very very skillfull hands and only if you have extraordinarily thick and uncontrollable hair.

the hairdresser should have showed you how to style your hair before you left the salon.

i wouldn't go back to that hairdresser.

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

try a volume shampoo

Im sorta mad, i got my hair done and...?

im sorry about that!!! the same thing happened to me but what u have to do is let it grow out again!!!!

What should i tip?

How do you determine what to tip a person who does your nails? Taxi Driver? A hair dresser? Someone giving you a massage at a spa? Pretty much anyone you are supposed to tip besides a waiter or waitress.

What should i tip?

You are safe if you tip 18-20% unless the gratuity is included. It is always a nice gesture if you have extrordinary service to tip a little extra it feels good and it is always appreciated. Good luck

What should i tip?

15-20%.

What should i tip?

U should tip 15%

What should i tip?

If you are happy with the service you received then tip accordingly, 15% is the norm but service workers get a lift out of a higher tip as they feel they did there job right and you rewarded them for it.

Never be rude and leave a few cents for bad service, you are better off to leave nothing.

Also it is Christmas time and people generally tip higher at this time of year.

What should i tip?

For a taxi driver i would do about 15%...whenever i get my nails done (about 25-30 dollars, i leave about 5 bucks), for hair, i leave an automatic 20%, massage i leave 15%)...

So on average about 15-20% is appropriate.

Hope this helps.

What should i tip?

I tip 20%, rounded up to the nearest $, and $2 is 20% is less then that.

What should i tip?

to the person who does my nails, $2 per service, (mani, pedi, wax)

to my hair dresser, about 15%

taxi driver $2

depends on the service and how good. 15% is customary. 20% for above and beyond.

What should i tip?

Depends how the service is!! now that i think of it i really cant this of any bad service.my hubby and i usually pay about 20%. And around the holidays a little xtra.waitresses and waiters really depend on there tips.

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

A few weeks ago, I had this great idea to buy a semi- permanent hair dye to use on my hair. Everything was going fine, until i looked at my wet hair in the mirror and it was red!!! To my horror, once my hair was dry, my hair had turned ginger! My normal hair colour is medium brown, so it's really unsly! I didn't think it was that bad until i was talking about how people should never dye their hair at home, and someone piped up, "is that why your hair is so ginger?" I've tried everything, from washing- up liquid to washing it heaps and heaps of times. I really don't want to go to the hair dressers, because I don't want my hair completetly ruined with the bleach that they use to get rid of the colour. Also, I don't really want to use another semi on the top, incase it makes it worse. Does anyone know anyway that I can get rid of it?

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

im afraid the only way it'll come out is naturally by washing it out BUT DONT USE WASHING UP LIQUID it strips the hair bigtime damaging it furthermore! u either need 2 go to hair dressers or dye over the top of it, a wash it wash out shade should do the treat just dont buy one with red-ish tones in it as it will bring out the red even more! hope that helps!

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

Go to a beautician. Spend the extra money and they will not let you down.

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

This same thing happened to my sister.

If you have a red tone to your hair (even if you can't notice it) any redbase semi-permanent will turn your hair INSANELY red.

If you have a colour store where you can buy beauty supply sort of thing (in the states there is a store called Sally Beauty Supply) look for a colour stripper and it should pull the colour from the dye out of your hair for the most part.

Otherwise, you may have to see a stylist.

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

i think you SHOULD seek a proffesional guidance.. bcause you've done something bad to your hair.. semi permanent should wash out after a while.. but if you're really scared of hair dressers, you can try glazes.. I highly recommend John Frieda Color Glaze, available in red, blonde, brunnette $10, are VERY good.. they change your hair shade even with just one use! but you'll have to do it in a routine so you can go back to your natural hair color again.. you should use conditioner everytime you shampoo.. because conditioner will restore you hair conditions.. and also do a deep moisturizing hair mask (l'oreal has got good and inexpensive ones)...

good luck!

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

Try using an anti dandruff shampoo to strip the colour out

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

this may sound weird but perm it, perm kits always strip color out of hair exspecially semi permanent, i do hair on the side of my career so i have did this to quite a few people not on purpose but the result was the dye came out

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

Put nailvarnish remover in your hair. works.

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

Any time word PERMANENT is in the name consider it PERMANENT. they should only have to go in with one shade lighter than your natural hair color to fix the problem. Thay should not have to use any bleache to fix it, as long as it didn't go darker than your natural. If they say you need to bleache it out then put your natural in, you better get up and go somewhere else.

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

The only way to get color out of your hair is to have it stripped out. You are going to want to go to a hairstylist to have this done. If you buy the strippers that they sell in stores you could end up turning your hair a color that is even worse and then have to pay even more to have it fixed. Anytime that you buy a color, semi-permanent or permanent, if there is anything in the name of the color that even sounds like it could have red to it you are going to get red tones. My guess would be that you have natural red tones in your hair and the color pulled that out.

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

Dont worry! if its semi permanent it should wash out. wash your hair a few times and it should fade. it will wash out after a few weeks.

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

You may not want to hear this as an answer, but this happened to me once so I went to the shops and bought another colour near my usual colour and dyed over it, as it is red it will tone it down but with red tones, I dye my hair all the time and have only had this problem once.

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

Sorry, the best way is to go to a professional hairdresser. I've had bad color jobs that had to be corrected before, and I don't think it is as drastic as you fear. Color can be covered up with highlights, lowlights, or all-over color without having to have everything completely bleached out.

In the future, if you attempt coloring your own hair again, please follow all instructions to the letter (especially in regards to timing), use reputible brands (like Loreal or Clairol) and never go more than two shades lighter or darker than your own shade. That is one thing that can cause your hair to turn red when you weren't intending it to....if you have brown or brunette hair and try to go more than two shades lighter.....blond will turn muddy or ginger red.

Let the pros help you out - they can not only correct what you've done, but guide you in colors that are best for your skin tones and eye color.

Best wishes -

Help!!! I need to get rid of semi-permanent hair dye from my hair?!?

just keep washing it washing washing

Whats this hairstyle called?

I want to get it, but it'll be pretty embarassing to bring THESE pictures to my hair dresser.

http://pics2.vampirefreaks.com/M/Ma/Mat/...

Whats this hairstyle called?

Bring pictures. If you don't want it messed up. but first cover the people's faces and try to REALLY pinpoint what it is you like about the hair. The length, the color ect. It is easy to to want a haircut when you see the whole picture. When you cover their face you can really focus more on the HAIR. If you are too embarassed to bring in the pictures, yu won't have the confidence to pull it off. And I am not saying that to be rude at all. Your hairdresser should remain professional and if they are not, ask for someone else!

Whats this hairstyle called?

Just take in the photos and explain what you do (and dont) like about the styles and let the hairdresser interpret it on your hair. You're paying them for their expertise. Use it. Report It

Whats this hairstyle called?

scene/emo

Whats this hairstyle called?

this is called scene or emo hair. its vey popular now ;D

Whats this hairstyle called?

i don't know what its called but i can tell you all those people are fakes!!

Whats this hairstyle called?

I'm not sure, but I have similar hair [for a girl, anyway... it's longer as well] and I just printed out the pictures and showed them to my hairdresser. It is MUCH easier than trying to explain it, and I got the exact style I wanted this way, so I recommend it. Good luck.

Oh... yes, I'm another person who only clicks links and doesn't read. Lmao, excuse me. But yeah... I have no idea how you would explain it. Try to crop just the guys' heads in the picture? rofll, idk what to tell you

Whats this hairstyle called?

emo, it is just, straight

Whats this hairstyle called?

Scene hair :

Layered starting from whatever point you like

(Show here with your hands)

A heavy long sidebang

Feathered a bit

Streaks(your choice)

Textured

Show the length you want.

Bring a picture just incase, they don't really care about what the person is doing unless it's super weird.

:]

Whats this hairstyle called?

You HAVE to bring the pictures in. It won't be embarrassing a lot of people do it and they have seen and heard about everything from their clients. It's easier for them to cut the hair from a picture then cut it from anything you tell him/her.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

i feel gross if i dont but my hair dresser told me i dont have to.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

Yes! If you wouldnt it would be all greasy! My hair gets very greasy and it gets flakes and smells bad if i dont wash it at least once a day. I usually wash it twice a day though. Some people actually go without washing their hair in a week! They're pigs! Thats nasty!!!

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

i use to wash my hair everyday and yeah, they tell you not to because washing it will make it dryer faster. your hair needs to be greasy at sometimes. but i wouldn't worry about washing it every day because if you're concerned about your hair becomming dry there's treatments you can use for that.

otherwise, if you feel gross when you don't shower... don't wash your hair...just shower.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

I think it depends on how oily your scalp looks and how much hair product you use. If you have a tendency towards having dry hair or dandruff, every other day is fine. Now if you are like me and oily hair, washing your hair every day is necessary. If I skip washing my hair in the morning by mid-day by hair looks very oily at the roots and gross.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

everyday isnt necessary. if you wash your hair everyday it is prone to getting dried out because you are not letting your natural oils hydrate your hair. it is better to wash it every other day. but in between not washing your hair instead of showering just take a bath. that way your body isnt missing out on a day of cleaness, thats gross.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

You don't have to wash your hair every day. I do wash my hair every day as well. They say it dries out your hair and increases the number of breaks in your hair. But I'm with you on that one, my hair feels nasty if I don't wash it every day.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

It is ok to wash everyday and it is ok not to wash everyday. If after one day your hair looks greasy, then by all means wash it. If it doesn't, you probably have dry hair and can wash every other day instead.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

u don't have to shampoo it everyday so like everyother day is good and that days that you don't shampoo use a conditioner.

=]

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

I guess its ok as long *** you use a mild shampoo, otherwise you will dry your hair out too much and strip it of its natural oils

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

You can wash your hair ten times a day if you want to. It depends upon how much damage you are doing when you use product after you shampoo, Like blow drying, gel ( horrible for hair as is anything with alcohol in it) and hopefully you are conditioning if needed.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

well when you wash your hair everyday you wash away the good oils that your hair needs but you can wash your hair everyday and still have healthy hair you just have to find a shampoo that says it safe to use everyday and also use conditoner with it

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

it is ok, i wash my hair everyday too and my hair feels fresh and ok no problem there

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

If you live in a tropical climate, which is humid, your scalp will feel greasy. However, irregardless of the climate, it's good to wash your hair.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

washing your hair takes the natural oils that your hair needs to be healthy out. It really depends on your hair type as to how often you should shampoo. I do not shampoo my hair daily, my hair very curly...curly hair is very dry, so washing it daily is bad for me;)

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

I have washed my hair every morning for over forty years now(I'm about to turn 52) with no problems. I massage the scalp with my fingertips as I do it, as I was told long ago by someone with a great head of hair, that it stimulates the circulation of blood to the hair follicles.(sounded good to me!) Anyway, I still have a very full head of hair, and get lots of compliments on it. I usually use inexpensive shampoo, like Suave, or VO-5, and lather and rinse just once. When going out for the evening, I usually shampoo a second time that day, again, with no ill effects.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

Wash your hair every other day, the reason why your hair is probably oily right now is cuz you wash it everyday...wash your hair one day, skip the next day, wash the other day.

also use warm water on your scalp first, then cold water to open pores in your head to prevent greasiness and oily scalp

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

i just asked my hairstylist this question. i think out of all my friends, my best friend and i are the only ones that wash everyday. my hair gets very oily very quickly, and this is mainly due to the fact that i wash my hair everyday. it is not harmful to wash your hair everyday. it may dry out your scalp, but that is if you are using harsh shampoos. my hair is fine, i have been washing it everyday since i learned how to wash it and it is far from dry and i do not have dandruff.

no, you do not HAVE to wash your hair everyday, but if its gross and oily, it is quite ok to do so.

Is it ok to wash my hair every day?

wash it every alternative day and use a shampoo that doesnt dry out ur hair

My hair is suddenly rough when i try to straighten it now. Why?

It won't straighten properly now and it's fustrating.

ALSo..one more question=] .. What do you think i should do? Get my hair Chemically Straightened OR go to the hair dressers and get tips and stuff on how to control my curls and keep my hair nice ?

Please help me. Thanks so much !

My hair is suddenly rough when i try to straighten it now. Why?

your hair is probably dry,so you need to get your ends cut....

it will look a lot healthier!!!!

i'm not to sure eather you should get it chemicaly straightend, you could first ask your hairdresser for some tips,on how to make your curls look nice and if you don't like the tipps you could always get it chemicaly straightend!!!!!

hope I helped:)

My hair is suddenly rough when i try to straighten it now. Why?

Weather change. The humidity level makes a big difference in how your hair behaves! I was advised by a hair dresser that there are several really good products out now that will be better on hair %26amp; do the same job. Your beautician more than likely sell products from the shop that they could recommend professionally. When you find out the products you can probably get them cheaper online...

My hair is suddenly rough when i try to straighten it now. Why?

if your gonna go to a professional dont just go to any hair dresser, go to a beautician. There is a difference. A hair dresser will wash and style your hair, but a beautician is trained to recognize damaged hair and the proper way to treat it.

My hair is suddenly rough when i try to straighten it now. Why?

if you have been straightening it a bit it is likely that your hair has been damaged as heat is never good for your hair, hairdryers and bleach etc will also do that too it i would recomend getting a hair moisturiser and not straightening it again for a few weeks untill it is normal again otherwise a permenant straightning will just make it worse, it will make it straight but also rougher and dryer, i had the same problem but with bleach it even got to the point that whenever i put bleach in my hair my hair was all breaking off

solution: never bleached my hair again and let the natural oils back in.

My hair is suddenly rough when i try to straighten it now. Why?

try some oil, or put on some vaseline on it but u have to wash it properly, if u r putting oil on it wrap it up with a towel for a while

My hair is suddenly rough when i try to straighten it now. Why?

hormones to the job!

lot of testosterone make hair curly

difficult to change your hormones

so straight them using gel

and wax after that

My hair is suddenly rough when i try to straighten it now. Why?

Hey, I have curly hair and what i do is I GO CURLY. It is so hard to have it straighten. What I use is a solution call Setting lotion. I just wash my hair and try to dry it as much as I can with the towel. Then I apply the pure solution on my hair and it keeps my curls looking good and shinning. For the next day just apply a little bit of water on your hair with your hands and you activate the solution. Plus it doesn't cost a lot. Good luck!

My hair is suddenly rough when i try to straighten it now. Why?

Your hair is dry probably because you've been frying it with 375 degree heat =/ I do the same thing daily but I use a thermal protector that protects my lovely strands(lol) from the blow dryer and straightener/curling iron...Find a good product and USE IT!

PS. Don't listen to the idiot who said chemically straighten it...that's damage that'll last until your hair grows out

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

I have 3 kids and day care is expensive so I stay home with them. I work part time 2 evenings for 2.5 hours each per week as a hair dresser. But it isnt enough for me. My husband doesnt want me to work more but I love working. Ever since I was 15 I worked and its hard to stay home that much. So I picked up a part time cash job as a bar tender at a bar 2 blocks from home. My husband and I occasionaly hang out there. I only work one night a weekday and everyother weekend he is giving me a hard time Its great $$ and my kids are asleep is it wrong to say Im not quitting.

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

I dont think you are doing anything wrong, you are worried about your family and you want to add to your family's finances. Ifyour husband is insecure it is really his problemand you should talk to him, is not like you are stripping!! is very close from home and there's nothing wrong to it. Dont quit because he feels insecure, talk about it and tell him to grow up, you just wanna help.

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

No way. If it was the type of situation where you didn't need any extra money, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to quit and spend some extra time at home or whatever. But, I know how much money you can earn in one night of bartending, and it is only a few hours. Believe me, your husband is being partially considerate, but you have to make the choice that is best for the long run.

-Giro

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

Is this under the pregnancy section because you are currently pregnant? Maybe your husbands concerns are just. He doesnt want you around that type of environment, on your feet constantly, and etc while you are pregnant. He is looking out for the best for you and your unborn child.

If you are not pregnant...do as you will, but perhaps you should talk to him about why he doesnt want you to work more than you are.

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

I wouldnt do it to my husband. Barista's are the hottest things around, even if they are motheres of three. To a drunken man, theyre fresh meat.

I wouldnt want to make my husband worry like that.

What about waitressing? That can be really great fast money, especially on the weekend nights.

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

If the money and you are good, he should get over it

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

I wouldn't quit!

I could see him being concerned if you're out late at night on the streets by yourself, but if he's worried about that, he could always walk you there, it's only two blocks right? He should be happy that he has a woman willing to work and bring in the extra cash flow. How many families can say they don't need the extra cash. Obviously you take care of your children throughout the day, he can at least watch them a few times a month. He owes you at least that.

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

if i had the opportunity to stay home with my kids, and not work. i would jump on it. but that doesnt mean i dont like to work either. i love my kids. if it were me i would stay home until all are in school then find part time work where you can be home when the get home from school.

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

When you are married you have to think of everyone in the family not just you. Most girls that work at the bar are around drunk men that want to hit on you all night. If you really care about your relationship with your husband you will respect how he feels. I don't even go to the bar without my husband. I think you are looking for more than extra cash. Otherwise you would just work more at your other job.

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

so if he disagrees try to tell him to let you do so and i think that he is right to feel insecure as this proves that he likes you a lot.

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

You should make the decision which makes you and your children happy, after that worry about the husband. But if you do decide to listen to your husband, make sure he does not point out later that he is the one bringing money to the house and you are doing nothing all day long. If you have no work, what do you talk to him about when he gets home? What sort of conversation do you have?Being out of work can really damage your relationship.

Is it selfish to work at a regular bar if my husband is insecure about it?

No it isint i think that it is your job your life do you have any say in where he works? It isint like you are going to go and cheat on him or take your top off or anything.

I need recomendations for coloring my hair myself from brown to blonde?

I'm naturally a dark blonde in color. However for seven years I'd been coloring my hair myself a light blonde and I loved it. However recently they discontinued the color I've always used. So i decided to color my hair brown for a change. Something I've always thought about doing. Now it's been about a year and I like my brown hair but want my light blonde hair back. I'd really like to do it myself but am worried about it turning a yellow/orange color. Has anyone ever done this themselves at home? If so what would you recommend? Like I said I want to do it myself and avoid paying the outrageous prices some hair dressers charge besides I have long hair.

Thanks so much for your help.

I need recomendations for coloring my hair myself from brown to blonde?

You're best bet is to go into a local beauty supply store, and ask an employee what she suggests.

Going back to blonde, after you have deposited a darker color on your hair is extremely difficult to do. Not to mention very damaging to your hair. You're going to have to bleach it out at least once, maybe even twice. (the more you have to bleach it, the more it weakens your hair)

I've been coloring my hair for years, and have succesfully achieved what you are trying to do. My suggestion is to buy some hair bleach, enough for however long your hair is. Buying extra is always a good idea, because the amount you need depends on how porous your hair is, along with how long it is. I'd also buy a CHI ultra-high lift blonde color of your choice.

Follow the instructions for the bleach first. (ie: Apply the bleach about an inch or two from the scalp through your hair leaving the last 2 inches un-bleached. Once the middle part of your hair with the bleach on it starts to get close to the color you desire, apply the bleach to the roots, and ends of your hair. These areas lighten faster.) It's usually not safe to leave bleach on your hair for longer than 45 minutes, especially if it is already damaged.

If the bleach alone did not reach as light of a color as you desire, I'd wait a few days and apply the CHI color. This specific color is the ONLY "haircolor" that will lift so far that I've found. Other than that bleach is the only thing that lifts the hair. Every other type of color deposits only. In the few days you wait, I suggest conditioning your hair, using hair masks, and leave-in conditioner every day. Follow the instructions on the box for the color when you decide to use it.

Also, you'd probably need a friend to help you do all of this.

This may not work for you, but it did for me. Like I said in the first place, go to a local beauty supply store and ask what they suggest. They will be able to see you face to face, and determine what would be best by examining your hair.

Good luck!

Edit: If your hair does turn out to have an orange or yellow tone, ask an employee at the beauty supply store what a good color or toner to neutralize the result would be. Example... If you have an orange tone, you'll need a color with a blue undertone to neutralize it. To figure this out you look at a color wheel with primary and secondary colors on it. Neutralizing colors are opposite of eachother on the wheel.

*blue-orange

*red-green

*yellow-violet (purple)

I need recomendations for coloring my hair myself from brown to blonde?

definetly avoid it if your hair might turn orange! just go to a hairdresser!

I need recomendations for coloring my hair myself from brown to blonde?

I would go to a salon but if you can't afford it then buy a hair bleaching kit. Follow the instructions but don't panic it looks orange as it is just going through the stages. Some people panic when they see the orange and wash it off. Leave it untill it is blonde usually about 40 minutes and then wash it off and condition it. Then use a toner in the colour you require.

Hair color and hi light disaster!?

I tried dying my hair a couple of days ago but it really didn't end up the way I wanted. I have dark brown hair, almost black and I have pretty tan skin. I wanted to dye it lighter for the summer and esp when I go on vacation to Hawaii. I bought the L'Oreal highlights and haircolor in one. The dye was supposed to be medium golden brown but didn't turn out much different from my normal color and after I finished the hi lights they ended up a orange blonde color. The highlights are the big problem...they are a lot lighter on the crown of my head and they fade as they go down. They are pretty horrible. So basically I still have dark brown hair with 2 inch long orange highlights, and pretty chunky ones at that. I can go for a little while bc my hair doesn't look too bad when its up, but I need to know what to do to make my hair lighter, like a medium golden brown with lighter brown natural looking subtle hightlights. What color and brand of dye should I buy to make my hair lighter brown than it is now and what brand and color of highlights should I buy to give my hair a multi tone look? I don't really want to go to my hair dresser bc I don't have the money to go and get it touched up. Help! What should I do??

Hair color and hi light disaster!?

Maybe I can explain why the colors didnt turn out as you expected...if you have already colored dark brown prior to trying to lighten it with the box color it wont work because color doesnt remove color. You would need a lightener (aka bleach) first. With the highlights it developed closer to the scalp because of your body heat causing the ends to appear to fade out. Going from dark to light is a process that is better left to a professional. Even though it may be more expensive and time consuming it will turn out much better than anything that can be done at home. If money is an issue you can go to a cosmetology school in your area. They are always supervised and have professional products that will be able to fix your problem easily. It ends up being only a fraction of the cost of a normal salon with the same results. Good luck with your new color!

Hair color and hi light disaster!?

You can use something you have in your house already. Put some paroxide in your hair. (Not too much though) It will lighten your hair and last for a few weeks.

Hair color and hi light disaster!?

my advice:if you are specific as to the results you want, you should really see someone with experience. haircolor is a tricky business. your hair is not the same as the predicted hair on the box. it might be close, but chances are very high that you won.t get the desired effect . it is a bit misleading of the personal haircolor products to not stress this point. it definitely is to their advantage, though!

How can I make my bangs look longer?

I cut my bangs a while ago and they were all messed up and my hair dresser had to cut them in real bangs but now I am wearing them to the side *hence side bangs* and how can i make them look longer and better?!

How can I make my bangs look longer?

Get a hair straightener and straighten them.

How can I make my bangs look longer?

just straighten them out. The chi works great :)

How can I make my bangs look longer?

straighten them or put in a few top hairs and dip in gel

makes it look longer and will look like natural bangs

How can I make my bangs look longer?

pull all your middle hair back and clip it..but leave the rest of the hair down.

it will hide your bangs and make it look like you dont have any.

How can I make my bangs look longer?

Although straightening your bangs makes them a little longer, I don' t think it'll get you the difference you were hoping for. I would reccomend and say that the most obvious and easiest answer would be to wear your hair off of your face. Hair away from the face, straight back from the forehead, hides in shorter lengths with longer ones and creates the illusion of a choppy haircut instead of bangs. Another option is to pull your bangs out a little farther back to the middle of your head than they were cut and comb forward. This brings out hair that would normally go back, and once swept forward and to the side creates the illusion that your hair is longer in the front.

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

i been having the same hair cut for a very long time. It usually past my shoulder. Sometimes its even reaches up to my mid torso. The thing is that my hair is very thin. I have little of it. It really doesnt look to bad but i often get my flat head days. I want a new change. Alll the hair dressers that i go to say that i my face would usually suit long hair. I want to do something different. I am sick of my annoying side fringe and ratty thin hair, Is there anything that i can do? i am not thinking of hair extendsions, because i am saving it till next year when my prom comes around. For the time being, i want to do something exciting. Is there anything i can do with my hair at all? Please help

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

get layers and long hair makes you hair look thinner.

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

i think u should get layers, they make

ur hair look pretty full and thick. and if

u want to get layers with long hair, i think

that's possible. but if they say layers

make ur hair short, then maybe u can

just get extensions or something.

g'luck :D

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

I have the same problem. Super straight and thin.. Go a little shorter. like just shoulder length and lots of layers. Layers do wonders. Plus if you blow dry it upside-down the layers pop out. Good luck!

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

get it layered

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

if i were you every now and then spray hairspray on your hair and from about your ear-level gently push upwards with your fingers

this may help to give it a bit of body on your "flat hair days"

what you also could do is have curls in it or make it wavey,

if you are sick of your annoying side fringe then i would clip it over the top of your head and leave the rest of your hair down

this usually makes quite a nice affect

but if i want to have a different style have a high pony like i do but keep the fringe down

here is an example of one (its not me though)

http://www.teenvogue.com/images/beauty/f...

good luck finding the right hair style and to be honest just mess around with it and see what you like!!!!!!

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

A shorter, razor-cut layered haircut. Or, you could have a wave put in to give some body.

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

try to stay away from layers

by layering it, it will look even more thin

maybe go with side bangs and just do different hair styles like curl it, put it up differently, etc.

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

Find a style you like that is shorter and go for it. You can try using a shampoo and conditioner that adds volume (herbal Essence is one) , it works well for my sister. And you could consider adding curls. I saw that work on many girls.

Whats the best type of hair cut for thin hair?

it sounds like you've had long hair for a bit too long. be rebellious and get it cut short to just above your shoulders. you'd be amazed by how much you can do with short hair. you can straighten it into a stylish bob, or curl it for some volume. short hair looks nice up in a pony tail and would look great with a thick fringe and bangs. i'd go for it! good luck!!

Professional hair dressers or people who know what there talking about.hair dyeing help?

if i use a bottle of sun-in for the whole summer can i i dye my whole head a different color

Professional hair dressers or people who know what there talking about.hair dyeing help?

Yes.

As Long as the color you are choosing is darker than the color of the product you have chosen. then yes you can.

Do u still want the highlights?

Because there is a way that you can color your whole head a different color and still have those highlights that this product gave you. Some colors will be an adhesive to your hair and take the "heat activated" streaks to a new level of color, just to match the color you have now...

But if you want to cover them up.. just grab a darker color and color over it. No biggie.

Good Luck

ps: We don't dye hair... we color hair and dye clothing :D

Professional hair dressers or people who know what there talking about.hair dyeing help?

Sun-in should be banished to hell as it wrecks your hair!!!

If the condition seems ok I would try to just go a shade or two darker (also depends on how light it is) if you do want to go a lot darker i.e. brown you must remember that all dark hair has red undertones and therefore colour your hair red first, doesn't need to be an expensive dye just a rinse or semi permanent will do then use the darker colour over the top. If you don't do this your hair will pick out the base tone in the darker colour and will turn out really bright, base tones tend to be Green, Pinky/Purple, Orange etc not a good look.

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

hey i have brown dyed hair and i want to dye it blonde without it going a nasty colour i want to know rather then going to the hair dressers and paying a fortune for blonde hair which is the best blonde dye that covers brown dyed hair and makes it look a decent blonde i live in the uk by the way xxxxxthanksxxxxx

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

As a licensed cosmetologist, it's best to consult with a reputable stylist who specializes in color..once you color your hair darker, it's a challenge to go lighter safely without severely damaging your hair or getting the shade you want. It's taking a chance with your hair when you do it yourself.

I once saw a client come into the salon with black tinted hair and she wanted it blonde again. The person who was able to transform her hair to blonde was a certified Clairol colorist...black is the most impossible to reverse...please do not attempt to do it yourself..it's really worth the money to go to someone who knows what they are doing and will make your color dreams come true.

Always remember too, once you permanently color or process your hair in any way it is considered damaged. You must do moisturizing treatments to keep your hair it tip top condition. Best Regards..LM

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

you cannot 'cover up' dark hair.

You will have to bleach it out and then apply a color. If you have red in your hair (natural or otherwise) then you will want to use an ash blonde color after you have bleached it out!

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

Color will not lift color.

What that means is that if you apply a blonde color to you hair, you will lift your natural color at the roots %26amp; destroy the artificial color at the shaft and ends, resulting in a brassy brown/blonde calico cat color.

You will not be able to acheive a desirable blond color by plucking a box off the shelf.

If it were that easy, I'd be out of work. We go to school for a reason.

P.S. The above suggestion won't work either. Ash=green

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

if your hair is a very light, fadey sort of brown then i would recomend blonde live. its a really nice blonde color althogh the best thing to do would be to go the hairdressers as the blonde they do is the best

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

Do not do it yourself! Going from brunette to blonde is complicated! If you do it with over the counter bleach you can ruin your hair. If it doesn't ruin your hair it tends to make it an orange brassy color. See, over the counter dye has metallics in it that are deposited into your hair when dying it. That's what they put in it in order to be able to sell it to people who aren't licensed to use professional products. The best thing to do is to spend a few extra dollars on a professional service. It will be way better for you in the long run. If you're really trying to cut back try going to a cosmetology school you can usually get a bleach job there for around 20.00, they do a really good job and everything is supervised by a professional. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

Contrary to the above answer, I have had beautiful light golden blond hair over dark brown hair before with no bleach. BUT, you say your brown is dyed, so you are going to have to take into consideration both your natural color and the color you have now, as far as what to do when your roots come in. You will have to do root jobs with blond hair every so often if you don't want to look nasty.

You have to take into consideration the tones in your hair before picking a color. Do you have red tones, ash tones, neutral tones? Go to Clairol's website:

http://www.clairol.com/default.jsp?hf=tr...

Even if you end up using another brand, Clairol has a really good shadefinder on their site that you can use to determine what would be the best colors for you.

Good luck!

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

Use ultra blue its realy great i use it and my friend had dark brown and it turned her hair lite blond the best thing about it you can leave it on as long as you want to reach the shade you want !!!! You can also use born blond its good to you can get these at walmart and cvs

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

Yes you can cover up dark hair, I had dark brown dyed hair and I used Loreal Preference les blondiness. Weird name but it works wonders, I hope the sell it in the UK if so try it out!

Best blonde hair colour to dye over brown dyed hair?

Ahh okay. It's definatley not "impossible" like everyone is claiming it is. Just last night I dyed my hair with Loreal Paris Les blondissimes Extra light ash blonde. My hair was medium brown to light brown. I followed the directions but kept it on a little bit longer than it said too and my hair turned out a pretty nice blonde! I also bought some blue shampoo to tone down the brassiness which there wasnt much of except with the roots. Soo yeah definatley go with Loreal Paris' Les Blondissimes Extra light Ash blonde!:)

Oh and my hair doesn't have any green what so ever so I don't think that claim is totally right on, I heard it only goes green when your dying light hair with a dark brown ash or brown ash.

Bleaching my hair?

I have dyed my hair several times! black, black/blue, red, purple using the normal dye you buy from your local supermarket and i hve bleached it twice on my fringe and not that long ago i bleached streaks all over my hair to put pink and red on it. i then went bak into my hair dressers and asked if they could bleach the top part of the back of my hair so i could put bright red on it and they said they can't gaurante that that piece of hair will stay in???? will it really fall out?

Bleaching my hair?

Ya, it can and probably will break off. I don't even do that much to my hair on my bangs, just a big solid area of bleach. It breaks all the time. I have a bunch of spiky short peices mixed in with my long side swept bangs.

Bleaching my hair?

too long

Bleaching my hair?

you can. i dyed my hair 3 times in one month and my hair is a little thinner. but it isnt that bad.

Need a Hairdresser In Toronto?

Does Anyone know A Good Black Hair Dresser IN TORONTO??????

Need a Hairdresser In Toronto?

mmm It depends, what do you want done?

If you're looking for top-of-the line care, and not afraid to spend money, "the place" is Azans. Here is their website: http://www.azanshair.com/

One of the only other places I've gone is a little shop called Glamourama, located on Eglinton West, between Caledonia %26amp; Dufferin. Really decent prices, especially for weave, you aren't finding anything cheaper than that.

And so is all the rest of her. "In the Navy..."

Aren't Christina Aguilara's curls cute?

They are SO fake......they look like telephone wires. If she burns them into place like that whenever she leaves the house, she'll be bald by the time she's 35 and she'd have to wear a wig. I personally like curls that are a bit more natural, but thats just my point of view

Aren't Christina Aguilara's curls cute?

they look a bit ghetto

Aren't Christina Aguilara's curls cute?

I love her curls !
