I am in my mid thirties. I have a young face but an old hair style. Any advice?

I have a big forehead which means I prefer a fringe to cover it with a parting to the side. I have been told to 'funk it up' but not sure it would suit me. Any one have any thoughts I what I could do? Pics of mens hair don't help as I get told by the hair dresser why I can't have that style and it is because I have unmanageable hair, being as it is straight / wavy and thick. I am not vain but sick of this poor style, but don't wish to shave my head or have my big forehead exposed!! Arrrgghhhh!

You can use hairstyles software to find good styles that suit your facial features: http://www.hairfinder.com/computerhairst...

right, you clearly prefer short hair, i recently did a yahoo search for "short hair styles" and i was amazed at the amount of results i got, it was for my mother, and she is delighted with her new hair style, try it if you have the time. There's also websites that allow you to use you're own photo and match hairstyles to it, which is a good idea

listen to your hairdresser - if they say your hair wont go in a certain style - it wont. Years ago if people wouldnt listen to me I'd go ahead and do it how they wanted - they soon realised.

Most haidressers will give free consultations - jus book in with several different ones - just for a consultation. There will be someone who will look at your hair and come up with the answer.

Also ditch your regular hairdresser - I mean this is the nicest way - when you regularly do someones hair you get used to seeing them in a certain way and attach a personality to a hair cut. A new peron wont know you - and will look at you as a blank canvas.

You don't say wheter you are male or female.

It sounds like you're going to have to have something that falls forward or get to like the idea of a high-brow. Don't worry, you will soon fit in as it is a common form of male pattern baldness.

You have a couple of excellent suggestions already, however, I suspect that the websites are more for female styles. But just look around and see what others have, if you like something describe it to your hairdresser or, better still, ask the person if they mind your taking a photo of them because you think their hairstyle looks really good and you would like something similar (a little flattery goes a long way!).

Look through beauty magazines, look at the Stars, choose someone who has the same bone structure, shape face and eyes, and get that style.
