I colored my hair at home on sunday, tuesday i went to a salon to get it fixed and it is worse now.?

I had dark ashe blonde hair and i colored it golden brown and it came out red. went to a salon to get it fixed and now it is like black brown and it looks horrible. how long do i have to wait to go to my normal hair dresser and get my dark blonde hair color back?

I do not want to over color it or anything and have my hair turn to straw and fall out... Help.

go and get it fixed now!! after your done get a good conditioning cream and use it at least everyday. i just did my own blonde highlights. the color was ok but it looked so uneven. then i got brown to even it out. acouple days later i ended up dying my whole head dark brown. my hair does break a little bit but i've used good conditioner and leave in conditioner and i've noticed it getting healthy again. it doesnt take long!!

You should have left it alone! Wait at least 2 months before trying it again.

the red would have looked okay. it my tke 3-4 weeks if it is not a permanent 1. Otherwise you would have to wait till your hair grows then u could trim it off but that would depend on your hair as every body's hair has different growing speeds. u could try a bleech AT A GOOD SALON

This is not so uncommon to have happen. Colors go in at different rates and you had left the color on probably not long enough.

You might like to use a regular shampoo that does not preserve colour so that it would gradually fade. Do you work in the sun at all? That can make it fade as well.

Jen Z., I have no experience with coloring, but I have experience with hair disappointment. I just want to let you know that I -- and many, many others -- commiserate with you. You are sooooooo not alone -- not that that makes it any easier for you. Tell me, did you shed many tears? I'm so sorry. You know, hair is the single most important thing in a woman's appearance. Clothes and cosmetics can be changed in a skinny minute; not so with hair. To use a hackneyed expression, "I feel your pain"; I really do. (Don't believe me? Click on my avatar's name, and check out the question I just posted yesterday about a disappointing new hair style. I'm still weeping.)

You've gotten some good suggestions about protecting your hair from sun exposure and keeping it moisturized (try Neutogena's Triple Moisturizing stuff). Together with a ton of empathy from the Yahoo! community, I'm sure you'll recover from this (just as I will from my disappointment). I hope that knowing you're not alone will make it easier for you (for me, too).

if your hair was originally dark blonde then that black brown will start fading a little with repeat washes...you'll hair will still be dark though. This happened to friend of mine. And what she did was gradually get it highlighted every couple of months and cut the about 1-2 inches of the ends everytime she got it done...she is now back to her natural hair color with some pretty highlights...it took her about a year with going to the salon every 2-3 months. good luck
