O.k i got my ear's pierced at the hair dressers like 3 weeks ago. How long do i keep them in for 4 or 6 weeks? B/c the person who did my ears said 4 weeks, but then my friend got her's pierced 2 days ago and her hair dresser said 6 weeks, so how long should i leave them in?

The longer you leave them in, the better your ears will take to the holes. If you take them out to early, the holes will close up. Your ears are one to the fastest healing part of your body.

i would leave them in untill you feel they are healed no scabs or puss. When everything is gone.

its supposed to be 6 to 8 weeks. and you can change then anywhere between there.

keep them in as long as you can stand... at least 8 weeks. If you put in cheap or nickel type fashion earrings earlier than that you could get an infection and land up losing your piercings.

Safer bet is 6 weeks. If you are above 20 and the area you have got pierced is thick or near the cartilage area, its best you change the earing/stud after the area has fully healed. Its important to keep the area extremely clean and dry. Take extra precaution after a head bath n wearing your clothes. If the earing gets stuck onto ur clothes n gets pulled, it may make healing process slower. You may have been advised to use surgical spirit to clean the area. Take proper care as if its gets infected, it takes a LONG time! And if you are feeling pain in tht area after a week n its still kinda red, then go to a dermatologist. Better early then late. I say six weeks. Make sure you clean them everyday with some antiseptic. Pour something like rubbing alcohol on a sterile pad, rub it unto both earrings and around, front and back. To avoid for the skin to not heal properly, turn each earring a few times every day. Make sure when you do that your hands are clean. I would put some antiseptic on my fingers. It sounds like a lot of work, but at the end, it will avoid any possible infection making the job way worthwhile.
